Portugal by the Turkish students

Our trip started by going to Antalya airport at 11 pm on Sunday evening. After talking about
what to do in the first part of the road, we took a break for tea. In the rest of the way, almost
all of us fell asleep. When we woke up, we had arrived at Antalya airport. After completing
the check-up, we started to wait to board our plane. As students, it would be our first airplane
experience, so we’re a little excited.
Everywhere
was so beautiful, it was fascinating. Everywhere was in order. After a short
tour, we ate Codfish, the famous fish of this place, and I liked it very much.
Portions were huge and low fat, which I liked a lot. After we ate, we walked
some more and crossed Porto’s famous bridge and took an elevator to the top of
the mountain. We finally arrived at the hotel, and after going over our plans
for tomorrow, we had a good rest.
17.05.2023
We started to prepare for a new and very beautiful day. We went down to the restaurant for breakfast, which is very different from Turkish culture. Since we Turks eat a lot for breakfast, I found the breakfasts here strange, but then I got used to it. After breakfast, we went to buy tickets for the city tour from the Yellow Bus. The man told us where the tour departs from, it leaves every half hour and we have to see Sao Bento train station before the tour. After buying the tickets, we went to the train station. It is such a beautiful place that it had a unique atmosphere.
After spending a short time at the train station, we started walking towards the tour. After a while the bus came. I immediately grabbed my headphones and went upstairs. After we took our place, our tour started. We put our headphones on the device in front of us and started to tour.
At the end of a wonderful 2-hour tour, we were hungry. First, after walking on the main street, we looked for a suitable place to eat. I likened the main street to Taksim Square in Istanbul and liked it very much. We sat down to eat. We ate our food – and shared it with the birds – then our teachers gave us free time to wander. First of all, we went to the Livrario Lello library, which we were very curious about. Or we tried to go. It was an intriguing walk as it is thought that Harry Potter was written here. We went in the wrong directions a few times but finally found it. Even though we couldn’t get in from the crowd, it was a very nice place. We spent the rest of our free time touring and sitting somewhere. Then we went to the front of the hotel to meet the teachers. Now it was time to leave Porto. Our next trip was to Guimaraes. After meeting the teachers and collecting our luggage, we set off for Guimarães with the man who came to pick us up. Since our day was tiring, I got some sleep in the car. We arrived when I woke up. We were in a beautiful city again. Philip greeted us when we arrived in front of the hotel and took our luggage. I forgot my bag in the car because I was sleepy. It was action packed for me. While we were coming to the hotel and making our check-ins, the Spanish team also came. After we met standing, we left our luggage and rested for a while. It was time to head back to town for dinner. Most places were closed due to the hour. This is another case abroad that I thought was weird. After 5-6 pm almost all the shops are closed. After finally finding a place to eat, we finally had our meal. After returning to the hotel without getting lost, we went back to our hotel and started to rest with excitement for the program that will start the next day.
We got
ready for our day at school and went to breakfast. I’m getting used to
breakfast now. After breakfast, all teams got ready to go to school and our day
started. We went to school and went to a hall. They welcomed us very nicely.
The program started with great music. After the musical was over, they divided
us all into groups and started showing us around the school.
The school was really big. Inside was what you
were looking for. After a great school tour, we came back to the hall. It’s
time to learn a new language. After learning Portuguese in a simple way, we
went to the dance room to meet. They stuck matching papers on each of our backs
and asked us to find each other by talking. After everyone found each other one
by one, there was a break for lunch. We’ve all been to the restaurant here. I
asked for meat but the meat here was not very good. Because I don’t like
undercooked meat and it was cooked undercooked everywhere here. I didn’t eat
this. After dinner, we took the cable car and went up to the mountain to
socialize again. They divided us into teams there and we played very good
games. Afterwards, we returned to the hotel to rest and have dinner. After seeing that all the teams were ready, we
set out for dinner. Afterwards, we had a very nice dinner and went back to the
hotel for the rest next day.
19.05.2023
We prepared
for our new day at school, had our breakfast and set off for school. Game
presentations of all country teams will be made today. We were very excited. In
turn, all countries made their presentations and we played their traditional
games. When it was our turn, unfortunately we had a mail problem and we could
not enter the games we made and we could only offer 2 games. We were sad that
due to a minor misfortune our time was up. After all countries made their
presentations, we took a break and went to lunch. We ate lunch at their school.
Since we can’t eat pork, we had chicken pasta and salad and we liked it. After
lunch, we went to the computer rooms for the workshop and made a game.
Portuguese students helped us a lot in doing this and we would like to thank
them here. After the fun workshops, our activity ended and we had free time.
We went on shopping trips with your hosts and did
some walking around and shopping. Then they dropped us off at the hotel for
dinner.
They took us to a restaurant for dinner and we
ate a famous dish, Francenisha. First, they brought the sauce specially in
case we don't like it, then they brought the food. We all really liked it.
After dinner, we wandered around with our hosts and sat down. Then we met and
sat down with the other teams. At the end of a very enjoyable day, we went back
to the hotel again.
20.05.2021
After lunch, we went back to school and played the escape-room game that was in the program. We split into teams again and played the 3-room puzzle game and had a lot of fun. It was one of the parts that I had the most fun. After the game was over, we went to the hotel to get ready for the international-dinner in the evening program.
We were at
school at 8pm. Food and desserts were great. After dinner, we had fun with
music and songs and learned new dances. After our dance was over, we played
games. The game was like this, you are told the name of an item and you try to
find it as soon as possible and the last one is eliminated. After the match,
special gifts prepared for us by the Portuguese team were given. After
everything was over, we came together as students and toured the city for the
last time.
21.05.2023
We set out from Guimaraes to go to Porto. Today
was the last day of the activity, we were all very upset. We were going to
Porto to learn to surf and to tour the city. We were excited because this was
going to be our first experience for surfing. When we came to Porto, we were
given questions about the places we would go and tasks to take selfies in
certain ways.
After
a great city tour and taking fun selfies, it was time to surf. When we arrived,
they divided us into 2 groups and gave us a short training. After the training,
we took our surfboards and went to the ocean. After a short reminder, we
finally entered the ocean. The instructors helped us a lot and I had a great
surfing experience.
After our
surf experience was over, we entered the ocean for the last time and it was
over. After a sad separation, we were back at our hotel. After resting for a
while, we went out for our last meal. I really loved this place and it’s a
place I want to come back to.
Street artists, new friends, new cultures were a
magical experience for me that I will never forget. I would like to thank
everyone, especially my teacher Orhan, for this wonderful experience. See you
again.

It’s
time to return

Our journey started in Nazilli at 11:00 on the night of 15 May. From
Nazilli we went to Antalya by bus and flew from Antalya to Istanbul by plane
with a connecting flight from Istanbul to Porto.
We arrived in Porto on 16 May. As we arrived at
the hotel, we left our belongings and started exploring the city. First we saw the
Avenida dos Aliados, which is also accepted as the city center, and then the
Porto Cathedral and the Dom Luis I Bridge. Of course, we also discovered the
magnificent streets of Porto. Afterwards , we sat in a restaurant serving
typical dishes of the country and enjoyed the wonderful meal . After we
finished our meal, we wanted to see the second floor of the Dom Luis I Bridge,
so we went up with something like a cable car called Funicular dos Guindais.
There was a subway on the second floor of the bridge and the view was
excellent. Finally, we stopped by a few souvenir shops and returned to our
hotel.
After a good night’s sleep, we had our breakfast early the next morning and started searching for a bus tour. After finding a tour called the yellow bus, we toured the Sea Bento Train Station until the bus arrived. The visit list of our bus tour was as follows:

After our bus tour was over, we had our lunch and
our teacher gave us free time to visit.We visited the Livraria Lello library,
one of the most famous libraries in the world, and the bookstores around
it.After the free time we met in front of the hotel and gathered our things and
started to wait for the car that would take us to Guimaraes . After arriving in
Guimaraes, we packed our belongings, met a few people from other countries and
went out to eat. After walking around for a while, we had our dinner in the
city center and returned to our hotel and started preparing for the first day
of the project.
On the third day, the first day of the project, after having breakfast
at the hotel, we gathered in front of the hotel from all countries and went to
school from there. When we arrived at the school, our hosts greeted us and took
us to the conference hall, where they played us their national songs, then
divided us into groups and introduced the school. The schools were very big and
beautiful. If I talk about it briefly, there are computer physics chemistry
biology laboratories, a museum, a very nice canteen, gym, etc. İn their
schools. There are rooms. After that, we went back to the conference room and
learned about Portuguese. Then they took us to a gym-style place and we played
a few games there. Afterwards, we went to a restaurant for lunch and ate our
meal.After lunch , we went up a hill with the cable car and played 4 very fun
games there . While playing the game, they divided us into 3 groups and we
played that way. In the first game, we formed a circle holding hands and tried
to untie the knot we created by tangling under our arms. In the second game, we
tried to knock down the obstacle in front of us with heavy iron stones. In the
third game, we tried to do the movements they showed us with the sticks. In the
last game, we tried to write a Portuguese with the items we found around us.
After the games were over, we went down the cable car again and returned to our
hotel. Afterwards , we ate at a restaurant with the guest countries .
On the second day of the mobility, each country presented its game.
Firstly, the Bulgarians presented the games they used in their lessons and
asked us to volunteer in a few games. Afterwards, the Croats did the same, and
in turn the Italians, the Spaniards, the Turks advanced. Afterwards, 2 of the
Portuguese students gave you information about a game. After that, they brought
us down to the computer room to make one of these games and divided us into
groups of two. After that we made our games. From him we went to the school
canteen for lunch and had our dinner. Finally, they took one or two people from
each country and divided us into 3 groups and asked us to make a game of
whatever kind of game we wanted to make. We made our game and left school with
our hosts for our free time activity. We went to a supermarket with our hosts
for shopping and we did some shopping. After that, our hosts dropped us off at
our hotel and we started preparing for the family dinner in the evening. Our
hosts picked us up from the hotel at about 8 o’clock and took us to a
restaurant to eat their traditional food, Francesinha. After we had our dinner,
we went to a picnic area-style place to meet up with the others and had a fun
time there. Then they gave us a little city tour and showed us their favorite
places in the city.
On the third day, the games we played were always outside games. After
meeting at the school, they gave us a QR code and we downloaded an application
from that QR code, and in that application there were questions about the
guimaraes and the historical monuments there. We tried to answer those
questions by visiting these historical intervals. But before we started our
visit there was a little dance show for us. They showed us their national dance
by playing in the city center. After that our visit in the game started. The
places we visited were as follows: -Jardim do Largo Condessa do Juncal -Museu
Alberto Sampaio -Largo da Oliveira -Palace Duques de Bragança -Guimaraes
castle. Certificate was presented at Palace Duques de Bragança and everyone who
contributed to the project was given a certificate. These were the places we
visited, but of course, they were all such beautiful places that I think they
are architectural works that contain their own souls. After our trips were
over, we sat down for lunch and ate our meal.After dinner we went back to
school for a game called escape room. In the game played in 3 groups, we had 3
rooms and you were trying to get out of the room by solving the puzzles in the
room using the clues given to you. Of course, you cannot have your phones with
you before you enter the room. Also, there is no fixed time in the game, but
the player who finishes the fastest wins the game.After our game was over, we
went back to the hotel and started preparing for the International Dinner,
which will be in the evening. International dinner was at school at 8 pm. The
food was very delicious, and the drinks and desserts were also very good. After
our meal we had fun with music and singing and they taught us a few national
dances. After our dance was over, we played a game. The game was like this, you
are told the name of an item and you try to find this item as quickly as
possible, and the last one is eliminated.After the game, special gifts prepared
for us by the Portuguese team were given. After everything was over, we came
together as students at work and toured the city for the last time.
On our last day, we left guimaraes and went to porto. The game set for
us in Porto was to take pictures and answer some questions given to us . We
were given certain criteria and we tried to take photographs in accordance with
these criteria. And we tried to answer the questions about Porto in the most
correct way. In fact, the places we visited in Porto were the places we visited
on the first day of our arrival in Portugal. After our trip was over, we had
our lunch and went to the seaside. There were many students taking surf lessons
by the sea. Others chose not to surf. Those who did not surf did activities
such as chasing on the beach and building a sand castle. After we were done on
the beach, it was time to leave and all the countries were left to their hotels
in turn. Actually, that was the only downside of the project. Of course, we
were sad to part with the people we were friends with, but we were also very
happy to get such a chance and see another country.After parting with other
countries, we went to our hotel and rested a bit. After that we went out to
have our dinner and wandered the streets of Portugal for the last time.
On our last day, we were in a hurry to go and we had a connecting flight from Istanbul to Antalya in the evening from Porto to Istanbul in the afternoon and we returned to Nazilli from Antalya by bus at the last night.
Yes, I told you what we did during the project, now I want to tell you very briefly how I felt. This was not my first erasmus project, but it was my first time going abroad and I was very excited, especially since I was going to take a plane for the first time. When we arrived in Portugal, I had a very different excitement in me. Discovering a new place, getting to know new people, seeing new places, I think is one of the most important things in life. And all plus making friends that can last a lifetime is one of the best parts of this project. I had a lot of fun during the whole project and had an amazing time. I would like to thank my teacher for choosing me first and secondly the Portuguese team for hosting us so well.

Hello, we are currently on our
way to Portugal. Today is 15 may 2023 and it is 11.00 p.m. First we will go to
Antalya airport because we will fly to Porto from Istanbul. black tea break black tea break‼
I am
very excited because it will be my first time going abroad and boarding a plane
for the first time.
My first flight experience was so wonderful.
We are at Istanbul airport now, I am very excited for Porto.
I’m in porto, looking for a taxi to go to the hotel. We found the taxi, but I’m sitting with the suitcases, in the secret seat.
We left our luggage at the hotel and went to explore porto, this place is like heaven. We ate our dinner and crossed the bridge and reached our hotel.
Tomorrow at eight o’clock we will depart for Guimarães. We had our breakfast and left the hotel. We’re going to take the hop on hop off so I’m very excited because I’ve only seen those buses in movies waiting for yellow bus‼
Our city tour by bus is over and I admired Porto. We will have lunch now and then we will visit the souvenir shops. We bought gifts for our loved ones and are waiting for the car to arrive to go to Guimarães.
We’re in front of the hotel right now, we’re going to have a rest and have dinner.
Today is the first day of
activity, I am very excited, we will go to school soon.
The welcome program was very nice. I loved the school tour and
the music event. It was a lot of fun in the games we played in the afternoon. I
had so much fun today. All the countries had dinner together and I’m so excited
for tomorrow, we’re back at the hotel.
I am very nervous right now because we will be promoting our games soon. I was in a bad mood because had a few setbacks and also I was so nervous when speaking English. The workshop went very well, we made a very sweet game.
We ate Francesinha, the famous dish of
portugal, with our hosts, it tasted great. We were going to the concert after
dinner, but we couldn’t go, so we went for a picnic and then the Spanish team
came and we toured with them.
The third day was very nice. I had a lot of
fun at the escape room and international dinner. I learned new dance styles.
we are in Porto on the fourth day, we played a very fun game, took very sweet photos while playing the game and visited new places. But my favorite place was Sao Bento train station.We went to the beach for surfing in the afternoon.
Surfing has been a very wonderful experience
for me. But it was very difficult to say goodbye after surfing. Thank you for
everything, I had very good times, I visited many beautiful places. I made
friends, thank you to all the teams for this. I hope we meet again one day. And
I hope one day I will go to Portugal again.
