Croatia by the Croatian students

ONLINE - LEARNING WITH DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY
DARUVAR, OCTOBER 2022

We loved having our guests in our school and in our country and we hope our guests had a great time with us!
Here are the blogs of our host students!

This time we've been hosts for Erasmus+ project ONLINE. We organised an interesting program, in my opinion. On first when we all met in Zagreb, we went on our first trip which was Plitvice Lakes. There we visited beautiful waterfalls of Plitvice and took so many photos. I loved   it very much because even though I am from Croatia, I've never been there, and now I'm glad I could go there with my friends and teacher, but also the foreign students who were also very nice. I talked to students from other countries, and they told me they loved it. The second day of the project, the girls from my class and I organised a tour around Daruvar dressed as Romans.  I loved that very much since I love to be a tour guy, and now, I got to do it looking pretty! I think others liked it too because they all wanted to take pictures with us. After the tour we went to Eva Fischer exhibition and then to the school where we had some workshops. After the workshops we were giving out presentations about photography then and now, Magdalena and I were a part of that. In the evening, we had a welcoming dinner where we danced, sang and ate the food that our cookery students prepared for us. It was a very fun night. The other day we also had some workshops, but the most interesting part for me was the evening again because we took our guests (as hosts) to a dinner. Tena, Ivan and me took students from Spain to the restaurant and then we had sort of a night out, it was very fun for all of us. And the last day, we went to Zagreb where we visited museum of illusions which was very fun because of all kinds of illusions. Later we had a tour around Zagreb and when we finished with all activities, we had to say goodbye to each other. For me, this was yet another beautiful project where I met all the amazing, interesting and beautiful people and made new friendships and experience which made my life even better.

Turkey, Portugal, Bulgaria, Italy, Spain and Croatia participated in the ONLINE project.  Croatia was the host and everyone else came to Daruvar to our school. The first day we welcomed them in Zagreb and went to Plitvice lakes. We had a tour there and after that we returned to Daruvar. The next two days we spent in Daruvar where we had very interesting workshops where we learned a lot about other countries and photography. In the afternoon we were hanging out with our guests in the city and went to get dinner. We also had a welcome dinner where each country had a short theater performance like dancing or singing. We had so much fun! The last day we went to Zagreb and there we explored the city and the Museum of illusions.

These four days were very interesting for me and one great  experience that I would like to repeat.

This project was my first time hosting a student from another country and I'm glad to say it was more fun than I thought. The trip to Plitvice lakes was really nice, it was my first time going and all along the way i was talking with Mauricio, i and him became great friends. Plitvice lakes were breathtaking and going there with my friends made it much more special and i have to say it was my favourite trip in this project. Next day we had activities in my school wich i also enjoyed because they made meeting new people much easier, the lunch was also great. The activity i enjoyed the most was decorating a pinboard in my school with other students. I have to mention the welcome dinner, it was the most fun i have in a while, everybody was dancing, students were singing songs in their languages and the dinner tasted amazing! I made many nice memories that night. The next day we also did activities like decorating a board with photos and posters. Our last trip was Zagreb, we visited the museum of illusions, it was amazing and i took a lot of photos with my friends. We also visited the funicular and the upper town that had a amazing view of the city. Nearby we visited the Stone gate and Dolac market. We had free time to walk around the city and take photos. Later on we had to say our goodbyes to the foreign students wich made me sad. Along the way back to Daruvar we stoped at Ikea for some cinnamon rolls. This project was an amazing experience and I'm happy i took part in it,i made many new friends, learned new things and most importantly i had fun. I'm definitely looking forward to taking part in future projects like this one and Erasmus in general.

This was the first project in which I had participated and we were the host. On the first day we had picked up all students in Zagreb and together we visited the national park Plitvice lakes. There we saw beautiful colorful nature, waterfalls and a lot of fish. On the second day, they had students guided tour of Daruvar and I was one of guides dressed as Romain which had founded the city. That was one of the best parts because everyone wanted to take a picture with us even local tourists. When we had come to school we had a few different ice-breaking workshops. In the afternoon, students from every country presented their presentation which topic was “Photography - then and now”. In the evening we had celebrated Erasmus Days with program. After that we had welcome dinner and party. On the third, and my last day, we had some workshops at school and in the evening we had dinner at the restaurant. I was a host of one girl from Italy. We had the dinner in restaurant with her friends and their hosts. We had so much fun because we relaxed and we could talk more open. After that experience, I can say that I would like to participate in some other project and mobilities. I had so much fun to meet new people and make new friendships even if I don’t know how to say something in english.

On the first day, on Wednesday we traveled to Zagreb, picked up the other students from Turkey,

Spain, Portugal, Bulgaria and Italy and went to Plitvice Lakes. We walked around the lakes, took a

boat ride and returned to the entrance by train-bus. It was the second time I visited the Plitvice Lakes

and I was again amazed. The next day we had workshops at school, and in the evening was the last

dinner at school. Students from all countries sang and danced together, the food was excellent and

everyone had a great time. On Friday, we took our hosts to dinner. We got to know each other

better, shared gifts and had a great time. On the last day, Saturday, we went to Zagreb. There we

were in the museum of illusions and had a free time after that which we used for some more

chatting. Students from other countries stayed in Zagreb, so we said goodbye to them and wished

them a safe journey. This was a nice experience for me, mostly because I met a very nice person with

whom I became so close in that short time and would like to do it again.

Our trip to Plitvice started in the morning when the bus came to pick us up in front of the school. I slept most of the way. When we arrived I suddenly woke up and started walking. a whole day of walking in the fresh air was welcome. We hung out with our hosts, looked around and enjoyed ourselves. The most interesting part was when we got to the big waterfall. There we waited for our turn to take pictures on the big stone in front of the waterfall. I would take a boat ride, which was relaxing with a beautiful view, which lasted about 20 minutes to half an hour. I am really satisfied with how the whole day turned out, I had fun and enjoyed the nature. Later, the whole group went to eat in Burger king. After we ate our fill, we slowly went home to Daruvar. On Saturday we went to Zagreb, where we visited the museum of illusions, which was very interesting for everyone. We looked around and took pictures. We went for a walk in Zagreb, hung out with our hosts, went shopping. time to see off our hosts and say goodbye because the project is over. It was a bit sad moment, we all said goodbye and hugged. I was very glad that I met new friends with whom I will stay in online contact, and I hope that such gatherings and projects will be repeated.     :)

Then we headed towards the school for other interesting activities. The workshops were mainly on the topic of getting to know the Croatian language and other students. We had lunch at school and after that presentations on the topic of photography now and then in different cultures. This was followed by rest and the so-called final dinner. where, in addition to food, we also saw different performances by our guests from Turkey, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Romania. We danced, sang, had fun and most importantly learned something .On Friday we also had various workshops from the morning. For example, the professor from Turkey explained something about various applications, the professor from Croatia taught us about photography… At the end of the day, everyone took their guest to dinner. I had a beautiful and very nice girl from Turkey. There were also two students from the Croatian team at the dinner who, together with me, host the girls from Turkey. We spent a wonderful evening and learned something new about their culture. The next day or the last day we went to Zagreb where we went to the museum of illusions and to the gallery Kranjčar . We also had free time, which we spent mostly on sightseeing and taking pictures.  Unfortunately the guests had to go, but the beautiful moments remained. But as always I learned something and met new friends from different countries of the world. I am very glad to have been a part of this project. Just as I found friends from different countries, so I became friends with my Croatian team, with whom I was never bored. Thank you for this opportunity.

The second day began, we took part in workshops at school that were creative and helped us get to know each other and better communicate with guests. Dinner at school was an extremely nice and fun experience. I liked it best when the guests sang and danced, and soon we joined them. The third day also started, we had workshops at school again. That evening, we took our guests out to dinner in a restaurant of our choice. We had a great time and that evening came in handy because we got even closer to the guests. With every project, new friendships are born. And each one blooms, and then, at the end, we have garden full of the most beautiful memories. And that's how I saw this project, even though we parted ways, we still have all the memories and knowledge. I met lot of wonderful people and had lot of fun. I am really glad that I took part in all of this because of all the different, but positively interesting, stories I heard. I learned a lot about my peers from other countries. But not only that, I also learned a lot about the difference between before and today's photos. I really hope to participate in future projects, and I hope more people will have this amazing experience.
