Erasmus BULGARIA

The first day in Bulgaria we went to visit the Ritlite, a big rock formation on the bank of a river.

Although there was bad weather, that place gave me a great sense of peace and freshness.

We took pics not only of the landscape, but also one with our teachers…

…one with the girls who hosted us…

and finally an another one with all guys who participated to the Erasmus project!

After that we went to the Cherepish monastery, where very special and significant frescoes were painted, as you can see from the images.

I think it was one of the most beautiful experiences in my life: it allowed me to know a new culture and traditions but also a lot of special people from every country who made me feel at home. Thanks!

In the morning of the second day, we went to the “Ivan Vazov” school in Mezdra where we watched videos about online safety and discussed about it.

Just like the other groups, we showed and explained to the guys our presentation and then drew and wrote on some posters about this topic.

At midday, we went out and got on the bus which was waiting for us outside the school. It took us to Belogradchik, in the province of Vidin, where we visited the fortress and later, we climbed the mountain. It wasn’t so easy to reach the top but, once there, the view was worth all the effort!

Although there was some fog and I’m afraid of heights, I have to admit that the sight was priceless!

I’m Rita, an italian student, and I participated to the Erasmus project in Bulgaria.

For me the most beautiful day was Friday. In the morning we went to Vtrasa, we went around  the city and we had some rest at a bar.

The atmosphere was amazing. It seemed like I’d known everyone a lot longer.

In the afternoon, we visited the Ledenika’s cave where there was a spring of water where you had to wet your hands and make a wish.

Outside the cave there was a big green space covered with snow.

In Italy it doesn’t snow so much, especially in Puglia, where I live. So doing a snowball battle with the others student was very funny.

I think I lived the best week of my life. I met such good people and I loved all the moments spend with them.

I left a piece of my heart in Bulgaria.

My name is Martina, I am one of the 4 Italian students who participated in the Erasmus project in Bulgaria.

It is difficult to choose which was the most beautiful day in the middle of the sea of emotions and feelings I felt. On second thought, maybe Sofia was love at first sight. Although the alarm clock and the journey had initially made me a little crazy, once travelling everything changed. I came to town with the stars in my eyes trying to see something from the windows of the bus.

A treasure hunt was organized to visit the city at its best. No better choice could be made. The rebus and the consequent dialogues between the students to solve the riddles were quite complex and this should have brought boredom and little desire to continue the challenge, but it was the exact opposite! Every checkpoint, every street, every monument made me feel like a child at the playground, I was fascinated by everything around me.

Going back and forth trying to make sense, asking for information, colliding with passers-by, feeling the scents and noises, every glimpse has made everything more engaging.

I felt part of that city for a day. Obviously I was not alone ; "choosing good travelling companions is to keep the right path".

Our hearts have shook hands during all this wonderful experience, from the evening confessions in hotel rooms, to the evening party of the same day between dances and typical foods of each country, until we felt masters of the world on the top of an immense mountain, forgetting distances for at least one moment.
